Chinese media have reported that 19 workers have died in a mining accident at a coal mine in Northern China.The mining accident occurred on Wednesday night.
The nature of the accident at the mine run by Shanxi Datong Coal Mine Group is not yet known as it once again brings to the fore safety concerns in China’s dangerous mining industry.
Mine accidents are common in China,with authorities often accused of failing to implement and monitor safety standards.
