The igbo dowry is the most expensive because of the belief that igbo ladies are well trained with good cultural, moral and domestic values which makes them the best wives.
As a young bachelor, it surprises me to hear an IGBO GIRL say she can't cook nor do house chores...do u now expect a man to pay exorbitantly for a lady that doesn't have the qualities that inflated the igbo dowry?
We know some guys marry the girls on credit promising to balance up later while some just take them in without even knowing their parents
although they will end up paying double when the girl dies or else the guy dies before the girl.considering the situation of this country, I suggest the dowry be reviewed since the girl is not FOR SALE because her parents will still be visiting and
getting small small things from the man(son in-law).
BRIDE PRICE LIST:
1: Rich and educated girl can be expensive - non negotiable
2: educated and jobless girl negotiable
3: average - more negotiable
4: girl with spiritual problem (spirit husband,ogbanje, mamy water) - Free.
5: Any man that decides to marry a single mother should be highly compensated.
NOTE: parents that collect dowry for useless children should be jailed because that is SELLING OF
BAD PRODUCT.
Whether you like it or not, many Igbo ladies are still single because of PRIDE PRICE.
