Social media is agog over the death of these two young ladies who drowned at a friend's party in Elegushi beach on Sunday.
According to their Instagram friends, 24-year-old Funmi (L) and 27-year-old Shola(R) were graduates of Covenant University with BA's in International Relation. The pair were months away from completing their Master's Degree in International Law
and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos.
They drowned at the beach after strong waves carried them away into the water.However, Funmi wasn't dead when she was brought out of the water. Some of their distraught friends are crying out over the poor state of emergency services available at the beach.No life guards. No ambulance. No medical services.
A witness Adebimpe Kayode, said one of the victims, Funmi, would have survived had she been attended to by the hospitals they took her to. Apparently, all the hospitals on their way from the beach rejected her until they got to Lagos Island where she died. Read their heartbreaking updates below...
